This semester I did the first few levels on duolingo then I switched to using babbel. I took notes on the vocab that I learned on duolingo. I met with Sage and Izzy a few times we read a book called calling of the doves. It was written in Spanish and English so we would read the Spanish part and then the English part. I listened to see if I recognized and words or could guess a sentence. We also just talked about random things that were happening like what we did for Thanksgiving or over the weekend. I decided that next semester I’m not going to continue with Spanish, I wasn't excited about it just caused more stress for me. I’m not passionate enough about Spanish to keep going with it especially independently. I don't think that I met the standards for Spanish I can't compare the structure of my native language to Spanish and I can't use Spanish to “express myself in various modes of communication”. Honestly, I don't think I met either of the standards this semester.

So far this year I have Started learning greetings and how to introduce myself. My goal is 10 to 30 minutes of duolingo every day and one spanish podcast per week. I also have vocab lists that are specific to what I’m focusing on that I got from a website called Lingolex. I’ll use the vocab lists to write paragraphs and dialogue between two people.
